What is the safety-wired knob on the aft end of the injector pump assembly?

        Thx

I think that might be the governor ,no fool with must be set by diesel injector shop tech's.

Well, that's too bad because my “mechanic” unwired it and turned it back and forth to see if it affected the slightly rough running engine. It did help a little. I guess I'll just wire it where it runs the best. Thanks

if you tractor has a tach. make sure that when running wide open throttle you do not exceed you tractors engine max rpm. I guess that it is no big deal if you NEVER run it at max power.

The bolts on the right of the pump where that wire holds it down, is where you can turn the fuel up on your tractor.  If you take that cap off theres a adjustment in there that controlls how much fuel the pump gives with how many rpm's its at.  Ive turned a few up, they gain tons of power.  And will roll big black clouds of “coal”.  Nice adjustment if you want to gain a little bit of power.  Not to much though, unless you have a way to monitor EGT's.
