I am in the process of splitting my Jinma 284 to repair an oil leak. It is almost ready to come apart except I can't figure out how to remove the shaft going to the front differential. Can anybody tell me how to get it out? Thanks.

That 4 x4 shaft will have a coupling on the rear side of it with a spring, push the coupler to collapse the spring and it will allow the shaft to come off.Be carefull because there are 6- ball bearings inside each coupler (Front & rear)that are going to come out.Once you get it down you will see how it works. There is a groove in the coupler for the ball bearings to fit in

Another thing you want to make sure and do is to make sure you block the tractor at the front axle from pivioting when you split it.If not when you get it to start coming apart its going to fall to one side or the other because the front axle can go up and down.We drive a wood 2 x 4 wedge in each side on top of the axle and frame

I have completed splitting and putting back together my Jinma 284. It was as you said. All the bell housing bolts to the motor were loose. I cleaned them all and locktited them. I now no longer have an oil leak. Thanks for all the advice and help.
