I finally got around to the spring maintenance for the tractor. I have been putting off replacing the injectors and this year it is mandatory. She had a bad miss. I changed the oil, filter and greased it yesterday. Today I changed the injectors and set the valves. The valves weren't to tight but the injectors sure made a difference. Now it has that nice smooth idle and it has that nice light knock when each cylinder fires like it used to have. I was having a hard time taking off from a stop without racing the engine and could not take off in second gear on the flat at all. Now I can take off on a slight hill in first or second without any trouble.

Tomorrow I will check her over for loose bolts and other things and give her a bath.

It's interesting what I will put up with to keep from doing any work these days. I guess a mechanic hates to work on his own stuff because I will do things for others before I will do it for me.

I will take one of the injectors apart to see how it ticks. I may even make a test pressure pump to set the pop off pressure, or, I may take them to an injector shop. My guess is they need a good cleaning.
