        Hello and good day.

My tach quit working quite a awhile ago.

I think I found what might be the tach pickup.
It is a threaded brass cylinder
that screws into the flywheel/clutch housing.
Is that correct? I’ve tried adjusting it in and out
but the tach does not respond. The wiring is good so
maybe it is this pickup that is the problem.
I took it out and looked at the end
of it. The brass has worn off and a small magnet is exposed
on the end of it. Would that be the problem? Is there a repair?
Or does anyone know how to get a replacement?

        Thanks for your time.

It might be damaged they are supposed to be set as to turn the sensor in till it touches the flywheel (engine not running) and back it out about 1 turn.

Your only going to want to turn it back about a 1/8th of a turn.  If that does not work, follow the wires and make sure they are all plugged in and not shorting out.  If they wires are all OK, call me up and order a tack sending unit.  Or you can order online.

There are the links for the two different types.
