transfer case will not lock in gear

  my 1991 dragon 254 will not lock in gear. I have taken the 4 bolts out that hold the universal joint to the transfer case and have put the four wheel shift in lock and the low and high shift in gear and the main transmission in gear and the transfer case will turn freely does not lock at all. any thoughts on how to fix this problem. thanks Wayne 1971

  Wayne, So your saying even after disconnecting the drive line to the front you got your fwd locked in and your yoke still doesn't turn? If thats the case you may have a broken Input/out shaft?
