Thanks Biggerten, Bob Rooks and Tommy for your answers, I have ordered a PTO pump and it will be here tomorrow. I should have realized that the valves on the Koyker FEL were open center, but didn't. I am not all that green on hydraulics and immediately knew what the open center meant.

Ben,
I just purchased a LW-7a backhoe for my Jinma 354 and am in the process of putting it together now. I didn't want to spend another $400 plus for a PTO pump but as was pointed out by contributors to this site any other way would have been a pain in the butt so I ordered one, it should be here tomorrow.
Removing the backhoe from the crate is a pretty daunting task and dangerous if you don't have help and/or use the tractor as a crane . Almost everything is heavy, be careful. (Crated my LW-7a weighed 1500 pounds.)
I'm in the process of assembling the unit right now so I may have some answers to your questions.

I just bought an LW-7A backhoe for my Jinma 354 and am in the process of putting it together now. The dealers who I have talked to tell me that the Jinma hydraulic pump is sufficient to run the backhoe. I intend to ignore the tank that comes attached to the unit and run new hoses to tees installed in the hydraulic lines. I want to run tees so that I can lower the bucket on the attached Koyker FEL to give me a solid front mount.
PTO driven pumps are about $400 plus shipping on eBay, I won't use the backhoe much, but if I really need one I'll buy one.
The poorly written manuals don't tell you how to run the hydraulic hoses through the boom arm(s) and since I have a hydraulic “thumb” I've got an extra 2 hoses to run.
Any information that anyone can give me on the Jinma pump output (GPM@pressure) or running the hoses would be welcome. In fact I'd like to correspond with anyone who runs a similar backhoe.
