I hear you Bob. I got frustrated with the site a long while back. It needs attention and it's not getting it.
dogdoc says: 2000 miles in 40 hours means an average of 50 mph, a little quick no. more like 400 miles in my book
The part you missed was “equivalent to”. The 40 hours to 2000 miles was used by many major equipment manufacturers for decades. It does not mean that you are going to drive your tractor at 50mph. It was used to establish a relationship for the customer between hours and miles. I worked for Cat and John Deere and they both used it back in the old days. That's why I called it the old school method. If you want to really change oil when needed do analysis.
I use the old school method that 40 hours is equivalent to 2,000 miles. Using this we see that changing at 100 hours would be the same as changing every 5,000 miles. Works for me.
Troysie,
Please provide your contact details for YTO. I want to compare with what I have. I will send you mine if they are different. I have a 2008 YTO 404. It has been an excellent machine and I have not needed anything from the factory but then again you never know.
Thanks
Larry

Bob, try these guys. http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/
They have saved my bacon a few times when working on old stuff.
Hi All, Yes I am still kicking 🙂 I didn't think the HF quick hitch was worth a darn and it sat for a couple of years. Then after looking at the pictures Bob Rooks posted of his I realized I needed another part. The extra part used to come with it but it no longer does. Once I got the right stuff it was much more useful. You can perhaps find it many places but the extra item needed is here.
Take care
Larry
Hey Tin that Zinsco panel stinks for sure. I read about those in the fire service news. We had a person here locally that had to get rid of one. Smoke started coming out of it. Not good
Thanks Rich and Bob,
Here's what I have learned today. The unit in my trailer is made by Wifco. It sounds like many people have problems with them. In one test I saw that the most they could ever get out of a 55Amp Wifco was 22Amps. Everybody on the RV forums toss the Wifco in the junk and get one from Progressive Dynamics and their problems were solved. I will follow this same route me thinks….
Thanks again and take care
Larry
I have been selling and using Amsoil since 1978. I have never used it in a Chinese tractor. The reason is that synthetic oils require good quality seals or the stuff will leak past the seals. To date I have not seen many Chinese seals that I felt were great quality. That's my $0.02
