Welcome IdahoBob. If you come up 41…about 5 miles north of Blanchard take a left and cross the line into Washington. That's where I am.
Tin,
Yes but with a 454 he does have that 4th gear. It is better for “Revolutionizing” the engine. Ok that wasn't nice of me
Bob, I see that you went to a rating of Expert which is most deserved in your case. This seems to have happened at the time you passed 100 posts. Now my worry is what happens when an idiot posts over a 100 times?
These tractors had Yangdong engines in them until that company went out of business. The Laidong was the replacement. We sold a lot of them and never had any serious engine problems. I personally liked the Laidong better. They started better in cold climates. Parts are no problem. Check with affordable or circle G on this site.
I would remove the wire from the sender to make sure before I bought another one. If the gauge stays pegged out when disconnected the wire is grounded out somewhere.

It almost takes two people to check it properly. Have one person push on the clutch while another looks at the end of the shaft. Then try pulling on the clutch pedal. If you see movement where the clutch shaft is moving inside the release arm you can bet that you have roll pin problems there.
msshearin, I think you did a fry job when you had the sparks flying. Glad you got it going. Lesson learned I would think

If you have the tail style fuse box with the blade style fuses the top fuse is the main one. It should be a 30 amp fuse. But I am not sure on your tractor. Also I assume there is a wire on two terminals on your volt meter. If so things might be fed through it. Where does the wire go once it leaves the voltmeter? You will have to trace with a test light to see where you are losing it.
What kind of tractor is this…make, model and approximate year? Does this tractor not have a gauge cluster? You say you replaced the volt meter so I assume it is a separate gauge from the others.
I wonder how the cops feel about these tires. Spike strips won't work.
