Rich is correct,most of the time the Snap ring breaks which allows the balls to fall out,you should have 6-ball bearings for each end of the shaft

Sounds like your 3-point lift may need to be rebuilt,not hard to do and we have the kits in stock

They do not make a rebuild kit for the steering motor or the priority valve,take a line off at the cylinder,put it in a bucket and start the tractor,see if any fluid is bypassing thru the cylinder.Steering motor failures are 1- in 100 cylinder kits sold so it is possible,but a expensive art to replace

About a hour North of Kenora in Minaki, Walleye ,Pike, I have been several times and I just love it, my son is also going so it makes the trip that much better to be able to spend 10- days with him he's 18 but the sure grow up fast

The end of the cylinder unscrews which will let you pull the cylinder apart

Splittng the tractor to replace the clutch is a major task if you are not mechanical,the other thing you need to think about is if you cannot get it back together then you have to figure out how to get 2-halfs of a tractor on a trailer to take to the mechanic.
The labor to replace a clutch assembly should be around $ 800.00-900.00 plus the parts. We just did one last week on a 284 and for the clutch replacement and a service,fuel filter replacement,ect the invoice was about $ 1,400.00
If you would have brought in 2-tractor halfs and a box of bolts it would have been alot more

It soundsgoing to be a steering cylinder bypassing or possibly a priority valve no working,we have rebuild kits for the cylinders or new cylinders

How are you going to know when number one is up ? Think about it .How many times will the crankshaft turn 360 from cylinder 1-3 ?? Do you think that because the marks on the crankshaft pully are lined up you are on TDC # 1 ? Maybe, maybe not are you on a intake stroke ? exhaust stroke??
