That's neat! Kinda like unemployment insurance. I think I'll try that on some of my clients and then see how long I stay in business. I may have a pair, but they're not that big.

Any updates?

That's a given.

Sounds to me like a classic example of someone assembling the solenoid with grease or oil, which over time collects dust and dirt. Should use liquid graphite.
If the starter drive actually does not line up with the flywheel check the starter mounting bolts.

I guess I should clarify an earlier statement I made about the “multi-function” valve stack. They are not a true joystick in that they will not perform more than one function at a time. They won't. That's why the valve handles are in slots in the console cover. To upgrade to a true multi-function joystick Prince valve stack costs around $1,800.00. Just one of the reasons the Chinese hoes are inexpensive.

Hey Mike,
First thing I would do is to remove the top cover plate of the console and check the valve handle linkage. These are multi-function valve stacks (joy sticks).
If all appears to be normal then you most likely have debris jammed in the valve spool, which will require dissasembly. Has the hydraulic system been cleaned and flushed out? What oil are you using in it?
The chattering you hear may be the relief valve.

LiTW, Tomcat, Woods, Bradco, just to name a few. I replaced mine with a LiTW a couple of years ago and am very happy with it. The newer units will have a curved boom like excavators. Also, it may be that your relief valve is set too high if you keep blowing O-rings.

@Bert: It sure would, but I don't know where I would mount the valves. Really shy on space since I installed the top 'n tilt. I have requested more info and pricing from Apache.
@Grizz: Oh ya, I saw that and my jaw dropped – looks like a brown carpet, but I think he's working in topsoil/loam and not the native boulder-infested glacial till like I have up here.
@Rich: Traditionally, skid steer attachments are pushed and tractor attachments are pulled. If you had that skid steer quick-attach adapter pinned to your FEL lift arms your options would be endless.
