Blowing air back into the tank only stirred up the bugs. The problem will be back very soon. Meanwhile, I suggest you do a little research on “Diesel Bugs” and start saving for a new fuel injection pump if you plan on deferring this. Start treating your fuel with a biocide according to the directions, and prepare to give your fuel system a thorough cleaning ASAP!
Mike Sorrentino strongly urges you to remove the sediment bowl assembly from the fuel tank, remove the strainer from the threaded inlet, and throw it as far away as possible. You will see the the logic behind this eventually.

On the right side of the fuel injection pump assembly you will see an identical screw, but without the ring. These two screws have the same purpose, to bleed air from the fuel cavity (chamber) in the pump assembly. The ring is provided for the convenience of not having to run back to the shop for a screwdriver or wrench. Neither screw adjusts anything, strictly “bleeders”.

Welcome lelhill,
It sounds to me like you have a plugged fuel system, but first check your fuel injection pump for the proper oil level, next check the sediment bowl screen. If there is black/brown sludge present you have been visited by the infamous diesel bugs.
We can go from there.

You guys look great! Your Dad is a testament to clean living.
The D6 is a very popular “all-around” sized dozer. Very capable. I've never had the opportunity to operate a hy-track machines and have heard very few complaints.
Please don't compare the Yuchai to it in any way, except maybe the color (mine came in “Old Cat Yellow”).
No doubt you've seen this before. Good operating techniques, and some excellent bench work.:

June 6, 2011 at 11:55 pm in reply to: Yuchai Manuals are Lost – Posted Anywhere on This Site? #32512Hi Gary, welcome (again).
Who will be working on it, you or an employee?
What year is the dozer? I assume from your post it has a dry clutch?
Did you try Northern Tool (Nortrack dozer)?

Curious if you felt the wheel bearings and tires for heat build-up after that.
And…
“I may even add brakes to the rear axle.”
Just because they aren't required by law doesn't mean they're a bad idea. I would if I were you.

I rented a TB135 yesterday. It weighs about 9,500 lbs. This is my 14,000 lb. GVW trailer. Notice how it is loaded (no disrespect intended).
bg: That is a terrible scenario and feeling to go through, my sympathies.

They maypp leak a little unless they are pushed down and locked. Also could have a bad regulating valve.

Do you have a parts manual? There is an exploded view of the clutch assembly in it.
My guess is that it sat for quite awhile without being started (way more than a month), the pressure plate and disc stuck to the flywheel so much as to cause one of the roll pins in the cross shaft to shear. There are two of them. If you are lucky it's the one on the outside, if not, it's the one on the inside (holding the yoke) and the engine will have to be removed. Sorry.
