      I don't understand either.

Your previous post said “no help i recon…” which I interpreted to mean that “recon” meant “recondition”. What does “recon” mean to you?

You reconditioned it? Was the price reasonable?

I have a friend with a heavy trailer and he has a pair of those swing-away tongue jacks mounted on the rear sides of the trailer. Works pretty slick if you don't mind doing a little winding.

I guess that's an admin thing, isn't it. Don't see it in my permissions.

              Tin,

I just copy and paste into the new message, highlight the text I want, then click on the quotation marks in the blue toolbar. That will automatically indent and highlight the quoted text. I add the “Tinbender wrote:” myself in an attempt to look like I know what I'm doing.

                I think I understand what you're saying.

A steel restrictor disc would require a copper sealing washer on each side of it in lieu of any O-rings. In that case the copper could be the equal of shim stock, say .015″.

I am thinking about adding some more angle iron supports where the vehicle wheels would be to prevent any fall through.

Isn't the deck planking at least 2″ x 6″? I'd think that would be good enough.

I have been thinking about making some stands to hold the tail of the trailer up when loading and unloading the tractor or Jeep.

If you are going to have built-in hinged ramps you could have stands attached to the underside of the ramps so that when the ramps are folded up so are the stands.

Are you sure the trailer frame is made from angle and not channel? Don't recall that I've ever seen a trailer chassis made from angle. Mine is combination rectangular tube and channel.

Tractors are made to scoop, not scrape, either one can have a backhoe on the rear. For your plans the dozer does sound like a much better option. And yes, a Nortrac is a re-badged Yuchai.

Tinbender is correct on all counts.

The dozers are inherently higher maintenance though. I have almost 600 hours on mine and have had virtually no problems (throwing a track does not indicate a problem with the machine). However, I would encourage you to consider other backhoe brands. Most all brands will adapt to the category 1 three point hitch. I use a Harbor Freight quick hitch on my dozer because I change implements frequently.

I also have several videos of the dozer in operation with various attachments located in the old forums.

What is your level of experience with dozers?

I also have my filter on the suction side of the pump. I recommend the 1-1/4″ size for flow capacity (it's also what I have).

Like I said, I don't have the LW-6 backhoe anymore so I no longer have a return filter – which isn't really necessary if you have a suction side filter. Not to say that you can't have one, it would just be redundant.

If you are digging in caliche (a form of hardpan) you can saturate it with a lime slurry to soften it up, somewhat. laugh I have used this method with some success with the dozer. Where are you located?

As for the post hole digger with the hydraulic top link, Bluenoser is correct. hailking
