There is another earlier version of the shuttle clutch that incorporates the use of two external hydraulic cylinders to engage and hold the clutch plates. You are right, I stand corrected. The steering clutches however, do work that way.

Member “Bluenoser” replaced the lift cylinders with a longer pair from Surplus Center. Don’t know if the pics are on this new site, but he did a pretty nice job. Had to do a little mod to the towers to accommodate the new cylinders.

Maybe you could clean up the tag a little? Many dealers stock short and long blocks, as well as complete engines. Check the business directory at the top of the page.

If you want to extend the blade drop you would have to fabricate extended lift cylinder mountings on the wishbone.

Three inches is it for Yuchai dozers. Keep in mind that the three inches becomes exponential in a straight level push. Leveling moderately rolling terrain can be  time consuming, that’s why I use machine control laser equipment – takes the frustration out of it. I just sit back, steer, run the throttle, and drink coffee. :yahoo:

Actually, 60 psi would be ok since it actuates the opposite servo (releases the reverse servo so the forward planetary is engaged, and likewise for reverse). The springs in the clutch packs are what actually engage and hold the engagement. The servos collapse the springs, allowing the planetary turn free. I know it sounds as clear as mud, but that’s how it works.

The gauge is a good idea but should be a 100 psi gauge. It will tell you when the strainer is plugged when the neutral pressure drops.

Excellent. Some progress pics would be great too.

Have you looked into getting yours repaired?

Yes, exactly. Any welding shop could do it. Probably would take all of fifteen minutes. Although you should disassemble it first.

                        Sure. Why not?
