Yeah, those chains aren’t in a parallelogram configuration. I relocated the mounting points to the same attachment bolts for the lifting arms. Used 1/4″ flat stock. You will have to remove the drawbar hitch if you do that mod, which wasn’t a problem for me because I use a quick hitch for everything that hangs on the back.

no ,unless I use a bit of real thin leather over the ball , I will see how long it will say tighter with the added grease. Maybe I should just order new tie rod ends, but I hate to cause I do not like the design. will have to ponder.
If you installed new tie rod ends that incorporated your zerk mod, you would never have to touch them again. Just a thought.

HA! I knew if I kept trying I would get you to respond. Yay me. Remind me not to respond to any of your posts in the future. You are much younger than me if you watched that Hanna-Barbera crap on TV. Even the most dense person can discern that munimula is the obverse of aluminum. B-)

Was there any way you could take the slack out of it?

Sorry to hear about the fire, both of them.
Interesting. My dozer has a one-piece screen on both sides, and all of the others I’ve seen are also one-piece. You may be able to purchase a single screen from one of the dealers like Circle-G or Keno, but it may be cheaper and faster to fab your own. Perforated steel is relatively inexpensive. The following is just an example, but you can get this stuff at Home Depot and Lowe’s.

Another option, that I use on the excavator, is a hypodermic needle adapter for the grease gun. I just penetrate the boot and fill it with grease.

FWIW, Cole-Hersee also makes two excellent alternatives to the OEM switch. One of them is waterproof. Sorry, don’t have P/N’s.
