can you see any movement in the linkage that goes to the wheel area? in other words have you checked for any sheared pins in the linkage joints? this is just a guess for a place to start. if you split the brakes at the pedal does the brakes feel different from one side to the other?
I guess he figured it out ,and I wonder what happened to the 1st gear to make it fail? guess we shall never know. another mystery of life. hahahahaha
looks like you are putting more care in assembly than the manf. did for sure.
as far as the head cracking, it could have been bad from the factory , it could have been overheated to that point to crack but I would say most likely it was ran with straight water in the cooling system and it froze ,IMO. If you can not find the torque specs on the bolts you can get the thread pitch and grade bolt and find what the max torque suggested is, on line by several sites. good to see you are making progress. I have two chinese tractors by two different manf.s and if taken care of reasonably they are pretty reliable.
I assume the sae values will be easiest for you intake valves at .008 to .010 exhaust is .010 to .012 and head torque is 110-125 ft. lbs. I assume these are cold set values.
I think in the past people have deadheaded the hydros by having the hoses to the loader reversed or the control valve go bad ,that blows the hydro pump seal allowing oil to run into the crankcase. I changed out the oil pressure gauge to a psi one, if you do not want to do that add a tee or if there is a spare oil port somewhere add a mechanical gauge as a way to double check electric one. I will try to remember to look for head torque values.
Before you go to far , since you have things semi figured out . Why don’t you pull the valve cover again and retorque the head , if it has not be done before and set the valves so you will know that it has been done. That is something that should be done at 50 to 100 hrs. when new. But I guess you do not know that it was preformed so do it yourself so you know. It might get rid of that leak too.
this is tractor related so this section might not be the best place to post ,try maint. or repairs , I think this part was for non tractor related projects. more details could make someone else’s repair more easily done. just sayin.
along the way of this site getting refreshed that stuff went M.I.A.
There is a company in Canada called (asian tractor parts) they have some of the lesser know brand parts, but I do not know if they have those. but maybe they will know who does. good luck
