Bob my 96 dodge cummins uses a heater manifold ( that has been trouble free) why have the other diesels still use the glow plugs, I heard that the cummins that Nissan titan truck has a ceramic glow plugs that supposedly last the life of the engine. but why use them?
good going on the truck, I have never done glow plugs on a 6.5 just heard nightmare stories that might have been blown out of proportion . And those hooks are a very good addition.
I guess it was the pick up, started and stopped many times today and all worked well , it seems that the hour meter in the new gauge cluster works better than the old one. It will advance time at a idle while the old one needed more rpm to advance the clock, but who knows, it has been strange since new. reminds me of a texas instrument calculator I had at time that would mess up rarely , so it took forever to figure out why balancing the check book I keep getting infrequent errors.
Got in a new pick up , when I parked the tractor tach was not working ( it was 40 ish outside), started up tractor to put in barn to replace sensor,( like 19) tach worked ,shut off tractor ,then restarted tractor tach worked , put in barn shut off then thought try a restart, tach no work put in new pick up tach has worked since. and yes I have tried to find a high resistance joint in harness with no luck. Damn strange we shall see
if it was low on fluid and you added some it could be air in the system, but you need to find out if your tractor is a common sump system or a system with separate pumps, also with the cold if you are using fluid that is to high in viscosity it will make it seem like it but the oil is just to heavy to circulate properly. like universal tractor fluid is to heavy in winter for steering system.
yeah it is almost gotta be a shifting fork, I would think
I have a 2006 series 40 foton ft504a and the console is the same color and the gauge cluster is the same shape tires look like the same size, but mine has a quanchi 495 engine. all I have is a parts book . I would get the code # off the tag and manf. date, call around and see if it looks familiar to anyone. the people it Asian tractor parts have been helpful and I think in Ontario. ph# 905-765-0110. But anyone who is willing, take there help and throw them a bit of business.
I would assume you will have to open up the trans for that, when you say other gears you are meaning 3 and4 not forward and reverse thru a shuttle shift.
well believe it or not with parts falling out of the old cluster a new gauge set tach still does not work will get new part# 300.48.074 engine speed sensor next. does anyone have one laying around?
two of my friends have the Duramax and they both let the dealer do it cause they do not want the broken off glow plugs on them, if the dealer breaks them they eat it. if you have a check engine light on it might go out when they are replaced and if you have remote start that might start working also.
