if I was going to use hydro oil where gear oil is required, universal is what I would use. It is a heavier weight so the oil surface on the gears should hold better. And if used in cold temps would make it flow easier except in the power steering still a bit heavy there. But if mostly used in hot locations it would be ok in the power steering but to thin everywhere else. Let me state this if the tractor is pulling a load like a plow or bog harrow use the correct oil for each sump. It does not take that many hours with the incorrect lube it mess things up when loaded.

I have a 2006 ft504a and I use 80/ 90 wt.. in transmission and front axle. aw 46 in power steering and hydros / rear end reservoir ,universal tractor in winter is to heavy to run in my power steering in the machine. In summer it is ok to use if I blow a hose and need to get it back to the barn but I go with the thinner wt.46

that is something , it shows if you keep something long enough you can find a use for it ,,it just  how long are you willing to ask yourself what do I have that still for?

I think your best bet is to contact a dealer and see if they can help you out. They work on these everyday or close anyway. The only suggestion I have is to take a ohm meter and ground one lead  and with the other lead search for a zero or very close ohm reading and then trace it back to confirm that it is a real ground source. There is a possibility that the base of whatever you are looking at is grounded thru the chassis and all that is in the dash is the hot side , not requiring a ground there. But there will be a ground for the dash lights maybe you can figure it out from there. good luck

did you check the pick up on the flywheel , make sure it is clean and I think turn it in till it just touches then back it out about 1 turn

Sorry this took this long but I looked at the fuse panel decal and it only shows the fuse amp rating not what they control . I only have a parts book no operators manual, I would assume that would cover what fuses control what from listed fuse positions. sorry

I have a 2006 foton ft504a , I think it is a series 40 tractor . I will look at the fuse door to see if the label is still there.  Have you checked to see if there is 12 volts to the alt? key on.

diesel is not like gas it will store much longer than gas will, I have heard that it stores better in steel cans than plastic ( I think this is true with gas too). And full is always better to help curb condensation . Maybe a diesel additive would not hurt either as a winterizer. Read the labels try to find the best one for you and try to ignore the B.S. in the advertising. Glad you got it going.

I forgot to answer the rinse question, If the tank comes out easily  acetone, lacquer  thinner, MEK and nuts and bolts. I think any of these oxidizers will kill them bugs . Shake well  NO SPARKS PLEASE ,repeat as necessary. Try to protect the paint . Let air dry.. Bob might chime in with a safer method.

no problem ,what I did not ask was do you have a bulk fuel storage tank ,if so check it out really well. If you get your fuel by the can, make sure your fuel source tanks have not went under water by a flood.(that happened here in the area caused a lot of grief) I would check out the two screens and spin on filter again in less that 10 hrs. even if the tractor is not giving you issues at that time just to see if things are cleaned up.(peace of mind).  And think of how the water got in the fuel to begin with , see if you can figure it out to prevent it happening again. good luck
