well you could make a plate to go over where the cluster is and go with the 2 inch stuff for coolant temp ,oil pressure, hour meter and a voltmeter. The tach. I have not done as the dong feng 204a did not have one when new. easiest and cheapest may not go together here. easiest is to get a new cluster ,cheapest and maybe better would be the 2 inch gauges.

do  you have a gauge cluster or are they separate? These Chinese tractors are bad  about how they wire things it could be a bad ground. my 2006  ft504a  foton I have done nothing to, my 2005 dong feng le204a I have replaced every gauge and these tractors stay in the dry.  They are 2 inch or I think 52 MM and when I did I went to English measurements over metric.

I have used it with no problems from there chain saw bar oil to 15/40 diesel oil and assorted tractor fluids , I do not see a problem as long as you are using the correct oil for the application .

you might want to consider to jack up the tractor some to make where the drain plug is the lowest point and let it drain overnight

I guess it is time to pull the tranny cover just to see what is going on, that just might be the best thing to do vs. guessing

well ran it with a mower for a hour stayed at 180 f . hopefully it will run warmer in the winter now. but I did not like how I had to place the coolant tank to get it high as possible if it does not do much reclaiming ( with the extra 20 degrees f.) might move it to a different tractor that it will fit better.

I can not remember it has been a few years since I was in there , but I am glad to see that about the rubber ring I had forgot about that thread that could be the problem in its self. how many pound of spring do you think on the rad. cap?
