white smoke maybe coolant in cylinder, black smoke fuel mix to rich, could use a few more details to help
I did not have a stihl ,I had a mtd 4 stroke and did not think much of it they are a bit heavier and like said do not turn up as much rpm, gave it away .went to home depot bought a toro 2 stroke split shaft that is one good running weed wacker that fits all my old attachments.
be careful with the wheel weights and the same if the tires are filled with fluid they are damn heavy.
the shaft that the brake pedals connect to has a grease fitting and there should be return springs to bring the pedals up on most. does your have dry or wet brakes?
well got it all put together and man that is nice not having to try to curl logs against the boom to pick them up.took pictures of each step to post them ,but my camera that works with my old xp computer will not load the disc on this 8.1 computer,so until I figure it out you will have to take my word on it.sorry
I just found a 12 inch Volvo bucket for 300.00 never been used .It is almost a exact jcb bucket, made new shorter pins and trenched in 125 ft of drain pipe and vs. paying some else I got a bucket.
could it be something with the excess fuel runoff from the injectors not making it back to the tank?
that seems like a good fix for the smoke but for that to happen on the stock position does that not seem that the valve cover is holding to much oil? just guessing did you notice how many or where the oil passages into the block were located maybe there restricted or plugged I would think there should be one on either end so oil would not collect angina just guessing
if you have a ohm meter you can remove the wire from the temp sending unit and look at the resistance from the terminal on the sending unit to the block(ground) I do not know what it should read cold, but you should read something if you get a reading of infinity it is bad.If you can see the gauge with the key switch on quickly brush the wire that went to the sending unit to ground the gauge should react.(it will quickly peg)If it does then chances are the gauge is ok.
there is a valve I think most have use a round knob to turn it near or underneath the seat , that controls the volume of flow threw the 3 point system,I believe most people leave them just partially open
