Cables and connections are good, already went over everything with a wire brush to get off that black paint!

Great, another threaded connection to check before getting to work.  I think I spent less time pre flighting my Cessna before flying than I do my tractor before working!

So installed the rod Sunday, no way I could get it on with both ball joints attached.  No clearance at the front wheel drive gear housing.  Had to attach left and screw rod all the way down, then put right in link arm and try to screw rod onto it.  Took awhile but got it done.  The beefing up of the rod with angle was a problem as well.  I used 3/4 inch angle welded to the rod  instead of the suggested one inch and am glad as again clearance was really tough.  The rod barely scraped by the gear housing with each turn, one inch would not have made it.

Yea I posted about bending the steering connector rod (I call it the tie rod) which moves the front wheels together.  I bent it mowing awhile back and the suggestion to reinforce was rebar inside the rod or weld angle on the outside.  My question was about installation procedure, that is with or without ball joints screwed onto the rod.

              Thanks

thanks i looked at some parts pictures and i see what you are saying.  prob is coming from the fitting on the line which attaches to the barrel plunger assembly.  i will order a new line for num one cylinder.  still a bit nervous about bleeding air and having problems getting it running again.

                  thanks

it is not the line, but coming from the fitting on the injector pump.  what type are these, compression or flare?

yes i did put a wrench on both nuts of the fitting, no change.  should i have any parts before i start to take it apart?

                      thanks

Still have not found shear bolts, but that was not the problem.  While in use left lower link pin sheared, dropping tiller on that side and causing 3 point brace on top of gear box to shear as well.  There was enough on the gear box attachment point to weld some 3/4 inch all thread and repair.  The hard part was drilling out the lower link pin holes to upgrade the wimpy little supplied pins to 7/8 inch cat one pins.  If you have those small pins I suggest you upgrade.
