Wow! Free? I certainly would've ran with that deal too. I know its an investment, just doesn't seem to make the bite hurt any less. I guess I have time to give it more think cuz spraying temps gotta be around 70 and it is January in ND !

Bob, I was told to run straight 30 in tranny and axles. I am running your other suggestions. Am I supposed to run 80/90 in summer and swap EVERY year to 30 for the winter? Don't like that idea but it does get sub-zero here when snowblowing. Thanks in advance, you definitely are an asset to this site. Fido

Yes I have used the captive on the steering cylinder with success, but not able to find them for this area. Do you have a secret supplier ? The “Leak Lock” I have used in the past for steam boiler fittings and like it. Was unsure about using it for oil. Thanks again Bob.

It is Cenex Indol ISO-VG 32. There are fittings that go into the chinese loader valve that chronically leak, even with new rubber sealing washers. Hoping that some “pipe dope' will help. Just didn't know what was compatible.

My 07 284 has pinned anti sway bars. Square tubes that slide inside each other with matching drilled and/or slotted holes with 1/4 pin. Was this an upgrade or new style? They aren't rigid but not sloppy either.

Can't agree more with you two. Wish I bought my 07 284 as soon as I bought my land. Got very burned out on the too big, too old, too expensive farm tractors. But then I might've got one with a Quanchai ? ! When did they put those in ? I heard it was for a short time but what year? Tom, have you changed the alternator? How big of an inverter can you run? Thanks, Fido.

Thanks guys. I looked in that area but decided that I would restrict too much air flow to the too small radiator. Scared that the temp will climb if I have it in front. I even wish the air box could be moved away. We are having some freakishly hot days up here and even tho the fins are clean, I gotta keep a close eye on the temp after a while. Then add a splash of coolant after it cools.
Bob, I remember you suggesting a better coolant at one time. What is it? Does it heat transfer better? Thanks again for the help, Fido

Hi Guys,
Just curious question on how many guys found loose or bad torque on the head bolts when they did them. I remember when I did mine, I marked them before backing them off, (Had to use a cheater on the 1/2 breaker bar!), then when trying to re-torque, the mark was WAY loose compared to factory torque! Visions of a soon-to-be blown head gasket entered my mind and so I “checked” the rest without busting them loose which actually does nothing. I also didn't find any of the other common factory mistakes like the clutch either so maybe mine was meant for a factory worker and actually went thru QC. Ok, now I gotta go knock on some wood. Take care, Fido
