The hoses were always connected either to the Front End Loader, or just joined together bypassing the F.E.L. I religiously do this now since the first time I didn’t, I burst (split) my hydraulic pump. Actually for some reason the little shaft (spindle grabber) in the timing case, broke and therefore can’t grab and turn the pump spindle. I think my next move is to remove the pump again and see if there’s some kind of retainer ring or such that is holding that shaft (spindle grabber) in the timing case. That would be the easiest fix. Really dreading taking off the radiator, fan, water pump etc. to get inside the timing case. There be dragons there.
