      I did order thre regulator should be here in a few days I know its only a 200 watt and not to expect much but it should put out 12.8-14.2 volts agin thanks for the help

        took the alt. off and took it to autozone and o'riellys what a joke, unless they can put a p/n in the tester that they match up with the parts catalog computer up front they cant test crap. so i went home and got down to basics, what do i have 1)stator, do a

        continuity test on the 3 terminals all test the same with no shorts to ground  2) rotor, test good no shorts to ground some kind black stuff on one slip ring had a hard time with the test lead on it had to poke it to get it to read cleand it up looks good 3) diode, check all one way then  the otheir, get the same readings on all, high one way low the otheir.  will put together and see. thanks for the in put       john in arizonacool

          my regulator dose not have the light on it (its a small silver plug in type) tom yes i do have multi meters, fuses are good have 12+ volts at one side of charge indicatore bulb, bulb checks good, question what two terminals do i cross to full feild the alt?

          (wire colors on back of reg plug)
