I needed a small coolant recovery tank to put on my 06 McConnell Marc 425 XL ( Jinma 254). Everything I looked at was just to big and there’s not a lot of room under the hood. I found this old water bottle and it looked like it might work. I knocked out the check balls and pulled the steel part back through about half way through the cap. I put a piece of small plastic fuel line long enough to reach the bottom. I used a couple large radiator clamps and a piece of flat stock to mount it. It tucked in right under the head light and is not blocking anything

I should have done this a long time ago. I took a hole saw to the end of one of the pallet forks I made to make it easier to backup the silage wagon. Now I don’t need to take off the box blade every time I want to move a trailer or the log splitter around the yard. :yahoo:

          Excellent idea!!!

Here’s a picture, they sure must have changed a lot between 06 and late 07. As you can see, the battery’s out of the way, but the steering reservoir and the air cleaner sure do a fine job of blocking it.

Wow….mine just has the battery….but the air filter is at the top of the radiator…I don’t think it blocks it….I think I’m going to move the battery back by the clutch…there is enough room to move it there and not have it interfere with my leg pushing in the clutch. I have an extra RV plastic battery box that just fits between the fender and seat mount…the positive cable should reach the battery…the negative cable I will ground right there to the frame …that’s if it ever stops raining here in NY

You might give them a call. https://affordabletractorsalesco.com/cart/sub_catalog_gallery.php?cid=3210&catid=&picid=3539&category=ZL-20&sub_category=&scid= Circle G has a battery box they say mounts under the radiator, maybe this is what you’re looking for? https://www.circlegtractorparts.com/body-parts/battery-box-200

Thanks Bob….talked to Tommy today at Affordable Tractor….he has them in stock…$178.00 shipped…going to order one Monday…

is the mower you are using a rotary cutter and how big is it? and I would think low second is kinda on the slow side . I can cut with my dong feng le204a all day with a 4 ft. ruff cut cutter in low four or my 5 ft. finishing mower in the same gear and the temp hangs at 180 deg. F

Hi David…..I’m using a King Kutter XP 4 footer…it has two blades that swing from a center piece…..makes the field look like a war zone..LOL

With a hammer and flat faced punch, tap downward hard on and around the outside edge a few times, then try to unscrew it again. Let me know if this works for you because there is another method also. This one is the easiest. Hopefully you won’t find any rust inside.

Hi Bob….I got it loose…I did what you said to try and then got on it with an oil filter wrench that slides up from the bottom and clamps tight on it…it still took some pretty good force to get it to move…I think I bent the bracket a little bit…but everything looks ok…Thanks for the help…

I have a McConnell Marc 425xl (Jinma 254) that has an extra bar attached to the frame by the oil filter that can be removed buy pulling a pin. I think it’s about three feet long. Not sure what it’s used for so I thought I would ask the forum. If it will let me….. I will post a couple pictures of it..

A little bit picky, but it’s Delo, not Delco.

                        Thanks…I missed it myself…LOL
