I bought an extra 12″ bucket for my LW-7 BH from Betst Power Equipment for digging around stumps back in march 2011 for around $200 with shipping. They had the best prices from all the places I looked. The replacement bucket was built 2 times as well as the Jinma 18″ factory that came with the BH. I have a post on it back in march 2011.

        Quicksand:

Thanks much for the information.  With your information and Rich's info I feel confident to take on this project.  Just need the time to do it.  I'll probably start some time in June after I get all the parts.

        Thanks much!!!!!!!!

          Rich:

I thrive on challenges. I  know I can do the job I just need to find the ambition to get started. Just a wee bit apprehensive thinking about taking almost the entire tractor apart myself with the weight involved. I have a three car garage with one bay for tools. Should have a stable work environment to finish the project. I'll start working up a game plan with check lists by looking at what you did and the post associated with your project. I'll contact Affordable Tractor (Harold & Tommy) they were great help and excellent service with my other projects.

          Thanks much again!!!!!!!!

            Rich:

A LOT of great information on your post from when you did your tractor.

I suspect that it is probably the sump bell housing gasket since I noticed the leak after extensive FEL work and jarring the whole tractor, must have loosened bolts up and broke the gasket. This is a very extensive job just to replace a gasket.  I'll have to break out a very old aged expensive bottle of Kentucky Bourbon, have a tall glass, and ponder my next move. I'll be doing this job entirely by myself so I want to get all the parts and tools/equipment in place before I start (don't want to be in the middle of this project and have to run to the store or have a part shipped to me). I am going to get the extra supports as well. I never thought the FEL had the correct support from the beginning, but didn't know about the add on supports.

I most likely won't start this project for at least a month. I'll be in South Dakota for a dog hunt and will be back by June. Looks like I'll have a long summer project. Never thought I would be a tractor mechanic when I grew up.

            Thanks much!!!!!

Per what Bob just posted need to know what type of equipment you have.

I modified my LW-7 BH on a Jinma 354 with a Prince pump. I had a complete post on this site several years ago with parts and the modification. If you have equipment like this I'll see if I can find the old post.

It may be a little bit more “jerky” due to more GPM hydraulic flow from the Prince pump. Just have to get used to the controls again.

                  John:

Great to hear you got it working. The guage will read zero or barely move until the filter starts to get dirty. Would like to hear how much better it works now.

Got your email from the “Friend” section of CTOA.

                  Thanks

                    John:

Sorry for the late response. I was pulling up the Ctoa web site several weeks ago and my NORTON protection for my laptop STOPED my system from this web site. It kept telling me that my computer was under attack from CTOA so I was off this site for a while.  I wouln't change anything in the mod-my BH still works 1000% better than the factory set up. The next mod on my LW7 will be to rebuild the cylinders (better seals) when I get a chance.  It still works fine, but the cylinders not hold a load up for a lenght of time, same as in the FEL.

I have read that the Chinese seals wear out fast.

John if you haven't started the modification or need more info send me an email lsuchar@bellsouth and I'll give you my phone and maybe I can explain what i did.

                    Thanks

I changed to a Prince pump and redesigned the hoses from the sump and to the controls.  BH runs GREAT! See my post on this site “Hydraulic cooling for LW-7 backhoe”

                      Thanks

                        Ben:

I was just in Liburn, GA this morning.  Not too far from where I live. When I was in Newfoundland there was a blizzard the 10 days I hunted.  I had a tag for a cow, calf, or bull. I let several cows go dur to them having calves with them. The last day I had saw a bull running across a bog at about 250 yards and decided not to shoot because I wanted a clean shot. Beautiful county! I felt like Robert Redford in the movie “Grizzly Adams” trecking through out the mountians living out of hand built log cabins. I stayed at Cottrells Cove to visit some frinds then went to the mountians about 5 hours south of there for the hunt.

If you ever get to GA you will have to give me a call.

Good luck on setting up the LW-6 BH.
