Checked Affordable and they didn’t have one. So I ordered a voltage regulator from Discount tractor in TX, it was not the same box size,way smaller in fact,but the contact prongs measured the same. Cost $43 shipped, put it in and everything works fine now. You can’t go on any numbers,so you pretty much have to measure and compare the parts.
Thanks
Tracked G/W wire for alt back to fuse box,which changes color several times from power source. It comes from the aluminum relay type box on top right,that apparently is the voltage regulator. Had power to box,but none out.
So, jumped 12v to G/W at alt with in line breaker. Cranked up tractor and checked voltage at alt, which was now 13.8 at idle. Increased throttle and voltage went to 14.9,so i’d say alt is fine and issue is voltage regulator.
Now,where can I get one? It has Chinese symbols on it and no other markings. Don’t think a normal relay will limit voltage.

Checked again and still have L-R
red wire 12.7 bat voltage at all times, assume this is charging wire to batt
grey/white wire 0 volts off/on/or running
black wire 0 volts, assume ground wire
Brown wire .14v off,.33v on,.43v running assume a signal wireThe Foton opns/maint book electrical diagram is absolutely terrible but i think it shows
Red- batt
Grey/white has an F by it,Field wire is my guess,shows going to regulator?where?
Black =grnd
Brown also shows going to a regulator, but I do not see an external regulator box anywhere.So if G/W is the field wire, it would need 12v to activate alt,is there a fuse for it? or where does it connect to get 12v to alt?
I’m tempted to run a fused 12v hot wire to the G/W alt terminal from batt, to see if that excites the field? If that works I could tap a new wire to the run wire off ign.I tested ignition switch and a Blk/Wht wire is always hot, in acc one red wire is hot,in run 2 red wires are hot with 2 more wire left i assume one is hot in start,not sure on other. Is one of these to field or does it come from another location to Grey/Wht wire?
Okay i'll look for a plug. The lines on mine all seem to go under the dash cover,it looks like it unscrews for access.
Maybe that is why i don't get a 12v reading from one of the other 3 wires,which would excite the alt field,so it can make 14v.
Found alt # it is a JF11A on a C490BT engine. May need to locate one if connector isn't it.
Thanks.
