I just replaced the pin’s this past weekend. They are a bitch to do . There is a 5mm inside a 8mm roll pin. I was able to get out the 5mm pin easily but the 8mm pin was put in from the top side. I was able to use a punch and hammer the 8mm pin from underneath and as it came out from the top I had to cut off a little at a time with a oscillating multi tool. From underneath I started the new 8mm pin and before it went all the way through I started the 5mm pin and was able to get them both through. But it is not easy.
Thanks
Thanks that is what I was writing about. I will change that pin
I took the pump off and the shaft is worn off and the coupling to the engine is worn, my question is how does the coupling come off, I am not sure and don't want to damage something else
There is only one pump. I believe the pump is bad I disconnected the output line from the pump and nothing came out when I started it up for a few seconds
To RonJ. I really appreciate your help. I do not know how to send a PM. I am in my 70's and still learning. My email is mttoptv@oldphonos.com
Thanks again
I really appreciate all the help. I have one more question and it probably will seem dumb to you guys but here goes. To lubricate the solenoid with graphite do I have to remove the starter or will the solenoid come off separate. I see 2 screws that hold it together and was wondering can I just take them out or what. Thanks again
Thanks for your help so far. What I did first was to jump the solenoid and all I got was a big arc, the engine did not turn over. I took a hammer and tap the solenoid a couple of times and jumped the terminals again and the engine turned over. I was able to start the engine after that. My question now is do you think it is being hung up somehow or is there a electrical short in the solenoid. Is it possible to fix it or just replace the starter. thanks again I am learning a lot .
I have had the tractor for 4 years. The light would come on when starting and then go out. Nothing in the owners manual. I figured it meant not charging but it is.
