There is a brand logo or symbol on the brush mounting plate, don’t recognise it but electric shop likely will.

I took the brushes out and next week our covid lockdown is supposed to end so I can visit a couple places to see what I can find. The alternator is designed to allow brush removal without having to open it up so I’m surprised a search hasn’t found anything. Take the model # plate off and the brushes are right there. Off course that was discovered after I opened it, but had to anyways to get the broken brush out.

I used a yamaha ATV blank. Discovered by accident but works perfect.

There are kits available, just did one of mine with a kit from Asian Tractor Parts (Canada). Have to know if your piston is 25 or 28 mm when you order as I guess different years have different sizes.

I should add that I have searched numerous times how to do it, but in the end gave up.

This is an old subject but I have never been able to access the old posts. Can anyone provide the directions to them?

Thanks for the help, thicker plate sounds like a good idea.

Pulled my vent and had a hard time trying to blow through it. Cleaned it out and we will see what difference it might make. Although have not really been leaking if I keep the oil level low. Might get energetic some day soon and change the seals and felt washer with the cleaned out vent. You never know, sometimes it is the simple things.

I gave up on the roll pin and have a 5/16 bolt in it with a nylon nut. Have to use a grade 8 or it will bend. Haven’t had a problem.
