New pump didn't arrive for the weekend so I took the old one apart and cleaned everything up, put it back on and presto, no bubbles or foaming. Will keep the new one for a spare.

Found the manuals but not much use for this area of the tractor. Took the pump and driver off. End of the driver was a bit rounded, just like the photo on Ranch Hand's site. Pump seems fine but am replacing it as I can not think of anything else at this point. Was good to see how the whole thing worked. Thanksgiving weekend in Canada this weekend so between new hydraulic pump, rad, hoses and thermostat, I have some work to do.

Somewhere in my house I have the engine manual for the tractor but I will have to widen my search to find it. Moving often doesn't help sometimes. I discovered the bolt in the center of the hydraulic pump mounting will not tighten so my guess is that the pump shaft is doing some wobbling or this is where air is getting in. a picture would be nice so the hunt for the manual will continue unless I find one searching this site. At least I found a problem and can head towards a fix.

Having the same problems, foams for about five minutes and then stops. Did a new pump fix you up?

I remember seeing a couple of times that 1800 would give you 540 rpm. I try not to go over that when blowing snow or using a brush cutter.

Well so much for that idea, still foams up. Starts building up bubbles right away, then after about 5 minutes there are enough to come out the breather hole or right out the dipstick opening if it isn't in. After a few minutes of that it stops and the bubbles gradually disappear.

Put a new filter head on tonight. Will know if that did the trick when I start it tomorrow.

Has gotten worse, happens while warming up now. Will take the line off between pump and reservoir and see if there may be anything restricting the flow. Filter is 140 micron (NAPA 1614). Pump isn't making any strange noises and once warmed up everything is working normal.

Running with AW 32. Patience seems to be the key, start it and walk away for a half hour, don't move it or use any hydraulics, just let it warm up.

I'll give the fin removal a go, thanks. I went with a DAYCO 17400 (40 inches) top cog belt. The belt was difficult to get on but it is -25 degrees C and working without gloves was painful. I took the adjusting bolt completely out to give me extra room to get the belt on, I wanted to get the belt cover off anyways as the top attachment on it was broken. Once tightened up it sits around the middle of the adjuster so glad I went with that length. Hopefully thats it for a while.
