Here is what I did. I took off the starter solenoid, took it apart and flipped around the large terminal screws and contact plate washer inside to essentially refurbish the solenoid. I then reinstalled the solenoid, cleaned all of the terminals, nuts, washers, and cable ends. Now all connections are clean and reinstalled. I hooked up my battery charger and dialed it to “boost” to try and start it. It did turn over a 1/4 revolution so that tell me what I did worked. It looks like the battery does need to be replaced.
LOL, I still have to find the drain plug. I am new to this tractor business.
Thanks for the reply. My shifter boot is cracked and my tractor does sit outside. I will change the tranny fluid and install two boots, one for gear shifter and one for 4X4 selection.
Thank you
RcimpOkay thanks everyone. I will try my dremmel tool and cutoff wheel to get the crimps off then just clamp on some new fuel hose.

So then I don't need to worry about them? There is moisture around the hose when it is running so I though I needed to replace.

How do I crimp then on the banjo fitting? I don't have the proper crimper. Each line is crimped.
David,
I do not know if they are dry or wet brakes. By looking at pictures of equivalent tractors I think they are dry brakes. I haven't looked at it in detail yet so I do not know if there is a spring missing or not. There is definitely a return spring on the right side pedal. When pressing on the left pedal there does not appear to be any brake contact. I can try to adjust and see if I can make it make contact when the pedal is depressed. Basically now though the left pedal just goes all the way down with no effort and just stays there until I pull it up.
Ron,
I have only owned the tractor a couple of months, I have no idea when the brakes were adjusted last. The right pedal feels good though. Just sitting on the seat and pumping the pedal I can hear the brake making contact, and the pedal comes back up. Only problem is when the the tractor is rolling the brake won't release after you step on the pedal, but the pedal does come back up.
I need to make room in my garage so I can dismantle and inspect more closely. Looking at the pictures from Ranch Hand I have a good idea of what is in there now.

Will do, I guess I will have to take it apart to find out what is wrong. I was just hoping I could get an idea of what to look for that could be wrong.
Thanks
Hi Tommy,
I received my books for my tractor and the rebuild kit for my steering cylinder. However, I could not find a parts breakdown of the cylinder in any of the books and I did not receive any directions as to which seal goes where in the cylinder. Are there any directions or is it obvious where the seals go once I break it down? Just want to be sure I get it right.
Thanks,
Rcimp
