I am still driving with two forward gears. I keep telling myself I rarely use 3rd and the rest of the gears looked in pretty decent shape after I made sure there were no more metal pieces in the oil pan. Once I realized I had to split the tractor I became a bit more leary about taking on the job myself.
I am in north eastern Ontario so trailering to Keno would be an undertaking. I’ll post when there is an update.

TomI was considering doing this. I stripped 3rd in my 284. Did you change out the gears ? Do I really have to split the tractor and remove the rear differential to change these ? Maybe I will live with 1st and 2nd gear. Any advise or manuals with instructions available ?
