I’ve got engines, welders, compressors and assorted crapola plugging up my shop space, besides I needed a 40′ fence 8+ feet tall. We have a new neighbor somewhere up on the Rimrock. There are 56 houses in a 1 mile circle with short streets coming off like spokes on a wheel. Minimum lot size is 3 acres. This person (and I use the term loosely) has walked or driven every inch of the neighborhood and peered into everyone’s yard.

” If I look through the trees just right I can see this guy has 4 cars, I don’t like cars! I’m going to complain to the county!”

I’m the FOURTH person this POS has filed a complaint against. The fellow from the county tells me, ” As long as the cars can’t be seen from the street we have no issues with what you do on your own property, but if they can be seen from the street they have to be running, registered and insured”. Personally if I had the money I would fight that last one in court, as registration is a road tax.

If I want to put up a fence 7′ or taller I need permits, I need to drill into rock in places, and it gets expensive real fast. These containers don’t require any permits, are cheaper than a fence, and give me storage to boot. And the county guy thought it was a great idea. :good:

I’ve lived in this house for 30 years and had never had a problem one with any of my neighbors, until now. The county guy says he can’t tell me who complained until he signs me off, but that whoever it is does not even live near me!  I’m painting this thing a light desert sand color to blend in, as I don’t wish to punish my immediate neighbors that I get along with just fine, and am welding hinges for a driveway gate onto the corner so that will be blocked from view as well.

And doing all this while going in and out of the hospital with bi-lateral kidney stones that completely blocked off both my kidneys, almost killing me. Then there’s that whole heart failure thing… Aren’t new neighbors wonderful? :negative:

For the control levers you can probably get sheets of pre-printed letters to make your own, or have a decal /sign shop cut them from vinyl. I don’t know of a single gauge manufacturer or car, truck, or equipment manufacturer that supplies replacement gauge decals, so I’d say the odds of a Chinese company  supplying them is something less than 0%.

They don’t try around here with anything but a hydraulic hammer or drills and ANFO. When I first moved here nobody had hydraulic hammers and the neighborhood was still filling in. All summer long the house would shake 10-15 times a day quickly followed by a loud BOOM.

Just wondering, why in the world would I want to change out the gear and hydraulic oil once a year?

Replaced the filter head and filter fits great now. I put in 6 liters of oil but it just barely shows on the dipstick. Added another half liter and it hits the bottom line on the stick. Maybe this one really does take 7 liters! Anyway, I ran it for a bit and the oil pressure jumped up to 0.5 MPa! It used to run at about 0.3 MPa. Not sure what to think about that. I guess high is better than low but I’m not sure why the pressure would jump so much after an oil change.

If your old oil had been in there as long as you suspect I’d say you’ve discovered viscosity!

I’m getting ready to use my bh attachment and dig 1800 ft. for a waterline. I’m on reclaim way too much rock for a trencher. I’m putting in a couple of yard hydrants and came across YARD HYDRANTS MADE EASY which utilizes a pitless attachment . If the hydrant ever goes bad loosen 2 bolts pull hydrant up take pit-att. off old put on new and re-insert – two bolts and done. NO DIGGING – so I bought 2, because yard hydrants eventually go bad. Just thought I’d share this.

You should buy another, cause if one goes bad in a few years, you may not be able to get parts for it.

In a few years he wont be able to get parts for what? The backhoe attachment?

I think he should buy three backhoe attachments, just to be sure   I do believe he meant the hydrants
