This is a small part of this project, but don't buy Chinese replacement hoses, take the old ones to a parts store and find something to cut to match. Chinese rubber leaves something to be desired.

That's a good question. Even tempered glass (the kind that shatters) can be bent. When I did bodywork at some shops we would use a piece of glass from a pickup truck rear sliding window to mix bondo on. After a year or so that flat glass would have a bowl in the center 1/4″ deep.

Time for an update. When I last wrote I'd just got home, and one of the last things I was told before leaving the hospital was “your job from here on out is surviving and not having to come back here. A social worker will help you with social security disability”.frown

As of two weeks ago my cardiologist tells me if I keep making the progress I have I may be able to go back to work in a month, starting slowly.laugh

Since that first post I've gone from a 10 lb. lifting weight limit to 30 lbs, and 40 minutes of exercise a day to 2 hours. punch  If I do the full 2 hours in a day it wipes me out for most of the next day, but it's getting better.

And I'm getting lots of seat time on my Jinma 284 motorized articulated wheelchair with loader, pallet forks, trailer ball, etc. roflmaoroflmaoroflmao

I learned this long ago when I remodeled old homes in Oakland Ca. for free rent. Many of the broken windows I replaced would be 1/16-1/8″ at the top and 1/4″ at the bottom and as wavy as the curtains behind them.laugh

Sure looks different than it does around here. I'll have to take a few pics, if it weren't for the junipers and sagebrush it would be hard to tell this place from the moon.roflmao

I believe Carl was asking how the crankshaft looks where those bearings contact it, not the mains. If everything else checks out OK, and that journal cleans up, you may get by without a teardown. Being a diesel I'm figuring it's a forged crank hmmm, so it should be good and hard. Is the rod and cap OK where the bearing spun? If you can get your hands on a dial caliper it would sure help, and maybe save a lot of time taking things apart.

In this case I suspect the auto-promotion software wasn't programed for the rollover at 1,000 and sees you have 17 posts. Kinda like the YK2000 crapola except this one happened. roflmao

Have you tried disconnecting the wire at the top of each glow plug and seeing if the fuse still blows, just in case you have a bad insulator on the buss bar or some other short ?

You hit the nail on the head Bert. When I mentioned there was no family history of this I was told there wouldn't be, because even ten years ago the survival rate was a guaranteed Zero. I was also told they have seen this happen to people in their twenties, thirties, even late teens. When it happens it's just your luck of the draw.

My brother was impressed with the precise control they have with drugs. I was kept unconscious until two days before Halloween, but he would watch them come in and put a little something into the line in my arm and instantly I'd move my feet. They would take some readings, put something else in and I'd be out again just as fast.hmmm
