I would get in touch with the guys at Farmboys as Larry suggested. There just aren't enough of those tractors out there to get info on, except these guys who took over. It's my understanding they bought out the remaining inventory from the original importer and are THE source of knowledge and parts for your tractor.

There used to be a chip mill in town, 20 acres of log decks. They would use those to unload the log trucks and fill the decks, then bring the logs from the decks to the conveyer belt to grind them. Of course if they drove over a log it would snap like a toothpick, and anything 8 feet or less would jam the conveyer belt. Sooooo, the public was allowed onto the grounds for a few hours at night and on weekends to cull the 8 footers (or less).laugh  Up until around six years ago I never had to leave town to get (free) firewood. But their 20 year lease with the city at $200.00 a year for the twenty acres was up and the city thought it could make a fortune off the property after they developed it for industrial. Now that the city spent millions in infrastructure improvements  one or two buildings were built and are empty, and my firewood access is gone.frown

There is no power when lowering the three point, just gravity. Does it work out of the hole?

That's great that they sent you here. I'm not about to tell anyone where they should shop for parts or anything else. As a small business owner however I can relate to the dealers that support this site. They don't sell 100,000 items, just tractors and/or dozers, and are more skilled in them as that is what they do. I have local competition from large parts houses and a wrecking yard owned by LKQ/Keystone. Yes they can beat my price on some things, but do they sell paint? If so can they match colors? Can they give advise? The answer to the first is some of them do. Number two and three, not a chance. What good is it to buy paint cheaper if it doesn't match, nothing can be done to make it match, and nobody can tell you how to apply it? The same with these machines. If I have a question after buying a part I want to know the guy who sold it to me cares enough about these machines that it's his only business, and can walk me through anything because he's done it before.

I'm sure they have documentation and parts for Jinma tractors too, doesn't mean I'll be calling them anytime soon. Call me old fashioned but I'll continue to support those dealers who support and provide advise here on this forum.hailking I'll also take the advise when available of those here who have “been there and done that” relating to my specific questions. Just my 2 cents.

“Short” when in the same sentence as “alternator” makes me think of “Let the smoke out”roflmao
