I have to agree, this agency has spawned nightmare stories for years.

In Oregon we have a “State Boiler Inspector” who randomly checks shops air compressors. .The “inspection” costs $75.00 and if you don't pay it in time it doubles, quadruples, etc.

When is the last time you saw an air compressor tank explode? readin  hmmm evil yell

Yes the government can put in the Hover dam, 4 or 5 on the Columbia, etc. etc. etc.

But you can't make a swimming hole on your own property, or clean up a non-waterway. WTF?

Ron, you have to request him to be a friend, once he's one of your friends you can click on his avatar and PM him. Only problem, I can't for the life of me remember how to do that.hmmm

Prarie Dog, after re-reading your post I see the part was 140lbs., not 400embarassed.

That's still almost double the max (75 lbs.) for UPS and FedEx ground. On UPS or FedEx Freight, or any other freight company truck I can't see that costing more than $35.00 to ship.

That hoist is worth gloating about cool That said do you have UPS and FedEx freight up there? 400# non hazardous going 500 miles should have been around $35-$50.00 common carrier. It sounds like the dealer doesn't know how to ship parts. After all, is your hoist showing up in a little UPS or FedEx Van?hmmm

I prefer Fed Ex, they have only damaged/destroyed one shipment in two years ( I receive three or four a week) When the company 99% of these orders come from was using UPS it was one damaged/lost a couple times a month. As for freight services USF Reddaway seems to be in the damage/lose/be late/stomp all over the “do not step on” sticker, etc. business. One in four shipments will have no damage and be on time IF I'm lucky.yellyellyell  They have the balls to deliver pallets with paint dripping off them, saying they have to so I can choose to accept or refuse the order!

Sorry can't help with the cross border stuff, never had to do that.
