Now that I think back on it, twice in the past I’ve had corrosion on the starter solenoid terminal going to the key switch keeping the tractor from starting, you may want to clean those terminals off as well and / or jump it there with a screwdriver to see if there is a problem there or with the key switch.

I’d try taking off the battery cables, cleaning them and re-installing, and maybe where the ground cable is connected. Check the positive at the starter as well.

We recommend that fluid per factory recommendation as that is what we have on hand is factory injection pumps. We do not deal in Bosch or any other company.

Ahhh, but you do, you just don’t know it. A mechanic friend pointed out when we were assembling my 284 that the injector pump was a carbon copy of the Bosch pump in his 1964 Mercedes. We looked it it and he was spot on.

A quick Google search pulled up this:http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/all-other-brands/66300-what-task-master-tractor.html    and this: http://tractors.wikia.com/wiki/Task_Master

This second link should allow you to match up model numbers to find out what it is you have, to start.

I would think you could clean it with diesel fuel or kerosene, and I use AW 32 hydraulic oil, some folks use a multi viscosity oil like this  https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/o-reilly-oil-4527/chemicals—fluids-16461/grease—lube-16582/hydraulic-fluid-17707/o-reilly-oil-5-gallon-hydraulic-fluid/80024/4601129

Tommy, I figured you did. I just picked the first dealer that came to mind and sure enough, 300 series parts are available.

I just follow whats on the side of the tire, but I’m generally on fairly solid ground unless I’m in the garden. I use mine more for moving as a truck tractor hauling a trailer around the yard, a forklift, and a 4wd wheelchair when I have to move any sort of weight around.

Sometimes when I get a two or three week run where I’m getting a ton of projects done I wonder, am I getting healthier? Or is my heart a light bulb getting brighter just before it goes out?   I try my best not to think about it, scares the crap outta me.

I’ll keep looking later. I just made Hot and Sour soup from scratch and potstickers for the family, split a cord of wood, fed the chickens and filled all the wild bird feeders, un-plugged the drain in the main bathroom sink, did the dishes and  covered everything i could before the storm we’re expecting. Other than that, I’m enjoying my weekend time off!

I haven’t checked any of the other sites , but Keno lists 14 different sections of 300 series parts on their website.
