thanks…..I have been checking everywhere I can and finally found a hydraulic hose shop near my home town and took the old hose in…he put some calipers to it and made me a new hose in 10 minutes….didn’t even know there was such a shop available—but thought  why not…back in business…thanks for the tip

Paul…..it looks like the same thing I have on my NT254…..you need a 2 armed gear puller to get that off….the nut has a cotter pin you need to remove and then there may or may not be a small bushing/spacer that needs to be removed…attach gear puller and you’ll have it off in a minute…once off clean old cached grease from the movable ‘metal oring’ inside that part of the steering cylinder and you will see a groove on the outside of the movable ‘oring’ and two access holes opposite each other in the groove….these allow grease to get to the interface of that ‘oring’ and the housing of that ‘oring’—hope this makes sense but my son and I just cleaned my PS cylinder and replaced seals and rubber O’rings….if you read my post in the ‘Mainrenence/Operation section you will see a link to actually replace all steals and O’rings…..good info to save…

If you go to <www.tractorpoint.com> and type in the ‘Search’ box NT254 power steering cylinder exploded view….it will take you to a page with a bunch of links…..after the downloadable box you will find a list of links.  Click on the first link you see…..the author is Huddleston….He has pictures and tells you step by step how to change out that PS cylinder…..The hard part is getting that shaft back into the cylinder as you have new seals and Orings…..my son and I couldn’t get it back together.  We are looking for someone with a press that might do the job…..more later.
