Guess what? Rural king had 12% off everything in the store. My wife said to go ahead and get the log splitter, brought it home today!!!! WOW! time to get to work!
Sorry to say but the main thing I use a back blade for is plowing snow. It's hard to beat a box blade for working a drive. I work probably 3/4 mile of drive. Lengthen toplink for cutting. For smoothing or just working up the top on rock drive turn the blade backwards and shorten toplink. It all works opposite for a box blade.
By the way the tire shop said with the loader not to load the fronts. They said with the loader there's enough weight stess on the front end components and not to add to it.
Beet juice (Rim Guard) is almost as heavy as calcium. I couldn't find anyone around here loading rim guard so I opted for rv55 over calcium. It's not as heavy but not corrosive either. I got calcium in the old Ford and had to replace a rim – it ate it up. After the fact a guy mentioned foam filling and said it was cheaper. I know they use to foam fill the mine equipment tires around here, could run them down to the cords. The foam is spongy like a super ball so the ride wasn't as bad as you might think. If he'd mentioned it before hand I would have seriously looked at that option.
Ya that's what she said too, but darn I still want a 3pt. logsplitter. I waited for it to warm up a little and went out and put the tiller together. I got all the bearings and shafts greased and filled both gear boxes. It took a little longer than I figured so ran out of daylight to hook it up and run it. The grounds frozen anyway – that will be another day.
Looks like a back saver! I had buddy ask about bucket forks just the other day, going to send him here to take a look.
The spring holds tension on the rod which is an adjustable setting to control the draft force.
I'm not an expert, but the rod with the spring works the draft and force modes for pulling a plow verse a box blade. The upper hole for heavy resistance and lower for least resistance.
I'm sorry. MANY THANKS TO BOB FOR DIAGRAM! I said Rich – Rich helped me on another project. Bob sent me the diagram for the rigid toplink and it works perfectly, once again THANK YOU!
I hooked up to the hoe today and got the length measurement for the toplink. I cut it and drilled the 13/16 hole. It's almost scarey when everything fits the first time. Rich I made it exactly to what you sent me. Got it all hooked up and it works perfectly. Thank you!
